So, I did exactly what I was afraid I would do....I started a blog and didn't stick with it. Maybe it's because I never
really "got into" the whole blogging thing. I rarely, if ever, read other people's blogs (Who has time to keep up with all that jazz?). There are, however, a few social media "experts" that I find particularly interesting or funny, but even so, I don't feel the urge to read their blogs and soak up all their muckity-muck goodness every chance I get. In addition, I truly have very little free time, and when I do have free time, I'm usually not writing. I do that for a living... I read an article the other day that basically said that blogs were on their way out. Is this true? Who knows, but I guess that made me feel validated for abandoning my social media child, "Haley Jane's Blog." I've already abandoned my MySpace page. It kind of feels like shopping at Walmart when I'm on MySpace. I don't know why. I'm just left with my Facebook and Twitter accounts. I find it relatively easy, fast, and simple to keep up with these sites, thanks to the mini-feed (yes, Facebook, I STILL call it a mini-feed...P.S. Stop changing my layouts - thanks!) and the third-party application TweetDeck (lifesaver!). They make "stalking" people that much easier and interesting.
What happened to my generation? Our attention spans are about as short as those awful booty shorts you can see young coeds wearing in the quad (coupled with their Uggs - barf!). I digress...I will try to make a better effort in updating my blog.
Current updates:
- I'm still in the process of writing my thesis, "Twittering to the Top..."
- I'm currently single
- I plan on graduating in May. I'd like to stay in Louisiana, but I'm up for anything. The main objective is to find a stimulating job that will teach me what I don't already know; allow me to use the skills I've learned on the job, in the classroom, and in personal experiences; and pays the bills.
- The Saints won the Super Bowl (in case you were living under a rock). I hope the devil prepared for the ice storm that was coming his way!
- ...and....Coach Mainieri looks like Brad Pitt http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3515298&id=75920253778
Take care, and I hope to have more to write about later.
Until then!
Haley Jane
